The Cardinals play a grinding style to maximize the talents on their roster. Although the Cards boast one of the league’s top goalies and best scorers, they will win games by toughing it out and wearing down the opposition along the boards and in the corners. Their penalty-killing was rated number 1 last season. On a team of shooters, Kyle Bond continues to shine as one of the game’s best set-up men. As the team leader in scoring last year, Bond was credited with assists on 22 goals. He has a good shot, but opts to dish off, especially as a creator on the power-play. Colin Fidler is a strong defenseman who can fire a bazooka through traffic with that great shot of his. A 25 goal man with 53 assists last season, Fidler lit the lamp 12 times on power play opportunities. He can log a lot of ice time, serving as the Cards’ best offensive rearguard. Cody Derocher has developed into one of the finer defensemen in the league. A rugged player who loves to hit opponents, his intimidating style keeps the crease clear for Cardinals goalies. Durocher will help most playing in the defensive zone. Isaiah led all HBL goalies last season with a .911 save percentage, and was awesome in the playoffs for the Cardinals. Skilled at making the inhuman save a regular occurrence, Kwasny plays his angles well and can track a shot before it leaves the shooter’s stick. You can’t go wrong with this guy in the pipes. Dryden Nein is a great player for any team. With toughness and a precise shot, Nein complements his offensive talents with rugged play. A true weapon on the power play with a great release, Nein is good defensively as well. Dryden loves to hang around the slot and wait for rebounds. Zach Kwasny’s bloodlines have provided him with the most dangerous snapshot in the HBL. Kwasny is a fine stick handler who gets himself in good scoring position, where he makes use of the league’s quickest release. Make use of “Kwik Kwasny’s” awesome firepower as much as possible.
