With 3 championships in the first decade of HBL competition, the Nighthawks should be poised to try and recapture the title this season as they lost it to the Rangers. Joe Hill is a determined player who radiates a winning attitude. Hard nosed when the going gets tough, “Captain Hill” can also slam home goals when needed, averaging nearly a point-per-week throughout his career. Consistent in all aspects of the game, use Hill as much as possible. Bardasson is a young defenseman who has mega talent. He led all Nighthawks blueliners with 45 points since 2006. One of Hinton’s hardest hitters, Leon plays both the man and the puck well. Make sure you make him a key man on the point for power plays. Blaine Bouchard integrates very well with the Hawks’ defensive corps. He’s a quality defender who plays it cool thanks to an abundance of skills. Todd Seabrook is adept at carrying the play from his end to the offensive zone. Make sure Todd’s a part of your defense, he can handle all kinds of situations. New between the pipes is Hunter French. Sparkling saves are a trademark – use this agile goalie’s top-rated glove hand to stone the opposition. As the only player to lead three different teams in scoring in successive years, Ricky Coss is a left wing you can rely on all the time. A superb stick handler, Ricky can put one by goalies while on the power play, short handed or late in the game to clinch two points. Keep Ricky on the ice for your success. Brad Hore has skating prowess that can take him effortlessly to the net. With fantastic moves and a reach that leaves defenders spinning, Hore can do it all in the offensive zone. A great complement to Coss, Hore snapped home nine game winning goals last year. Right winger Terry LePage, a former 55-goal scorer, has one of the club’s best shots. Use him to carry the puck up once you are past the red line. Skilled in some aspects of offensive play, LePage finished third in team scoring and led the club in PowerPlay goals with 16 – get him in close and set him up for a one-timer.
