The game may be played out for fun but the points will be awarded to the other team. If both teams are short, no points will be awarded.

RULES:
- All basic rules exist. You cannot hook, trip, slash, hold, grab, etc.
- There will be absolutely no arguing with the referee, when a call is made, it stands. All players are to self-manage their actions and be in control. Team reps are responsible for managing the actions of their team’s players.
- No slap shots. Slap shots will be a minor penalty.
- No body checking. Hockey is a contact game and good body position and board battles are allowed but excessively rough play will be penalized.
- Delay of game: games are straight time and any deliberate attempt to delay the game will be handled by the referee and may result in a penalty or penalty shot at the ref’s discretion.
- Zero tolerance for fighting. Fighting will result in an immediate, indefinite suspension and reviewed by the League in consultation with refs and team reps.
- Major penalties result in a game misconduct and potential further suspension.
- Minor penalties: 3 minutes
- Major penalties: 7 minutes
- All other Hockey Canada rules apply.
REFEREES:
- 1 referee will be assigned per game
- The referee will have a scoresheet in his pocket and keep track of the score. The League does not provide scorekeepers to run the clock. The referee’s score is the official score but teams are expected to mark goals on the scoreboard as they happen.
- This is a fun League and amateur refs. Idiots aren’t allowed in the HBL.
