HBL PLAYOFFS 2020

WELCOME TO THE 2020 HBL PLAYOFFS

TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURES:

In the event of a tie in regular season standings, the tied teams’ HEAD TO HEAD record will determine final placement.
Please see the opening round playoff schedule. The second round will be announced upon the completion of round one.

SERIES FORMAT:

All series will be a Best of 3.

PLAYOFF GAME FORMAT:

In each game, only the final score will matter.
The last 3 minutes of the second half will be STOP TIME.

OVERTIME:

Overtime would be stop time as well if needed. (No period scores)
OT format will be 10 minutes of 3 on 3 followed by a 3 person shootout to determine a winner.

TIMEKEEPERS:

The visiting team will be required to supply a timekeeper.
The lower seed would be the visitors in games one and three.
The higher seed would be the visitors in game 2.
They will be expected to put the score and penalties on the clock.

JERSEYS:

Home team will have choice of which jerseys they would like to wear.

ROSTERS:

Only players named on your season roster will be eligible to play in the playoffs. If you have added anyone since October, please verify with The Commissioner that they are on your roster. Teams may not use subs in the playoffs.

GOALTENDERS:

The only exception of a substitution would be goaltenders with written permission from The HBL Commissioners Office a minimum of 2 hours prior to face off.
Any player eligibility disputes MUST BE DEALT WITH PRIOR TO PUCK DROP via the referees and HBL reps.
No 2019/20 carded players are allowed to participate in the HBL!
Any player that played junior hockey or senior hockey this season is ineligible to play in the playoffs.
Subject to availability, The HBL will supply 2 referees for playoff games. Please be respectful. Compete hard and good luck!
